On October 6, 2021, the Cabinet approved 7 new mega textile parks under the Prime Minister Mitra Yojana. The objective of this new initiative is to create a world-class foundational infrastructure with plug-and-play facilities that will aid in boosting exports. These parks are part of the government’s ‘Farm to Factory, Fashion to Foreign’ initiative, and this scheme is expected to create 7 million direct and 14 million indirect jobs.

Objective of PM Mitra Yojana

The primary objective of the PM Mitra Yojana is to provide the textile industry with the facility of an integrated ecosystem. Through this initiative of the central government, 7 textile parks will be established across the country. All activities related to spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing and printing, and garment manufacturing will be conducted in these parks.
